I was always hoping to be posted to a 'slack' vocation or unit. Simply put, a vocation that requires minimal or no physical exertion. CBRE, with its notorious Combat Fitness Test and its reputation as a High Readiness Core unit, certainly does not fill that bill.
Then again, in hindsight, I truly am glad for being posted to CBRE. We slogged and we toiled, and we ultimately survived.
I now wear my CBRD badge on my chest with pride. It feels good to be proud of my vocation and it feels even better to be a part of this special group of individuals.
And as the song goes, "CBR upon my chest, show them we are the best!"
