    Recurrence.

It has been slightly more than three months since my last entry. So many things have happened that I do not know exactly where to start or how to begin this long-due entry.

So I shall split it up in phases.

It has been absolutely hectic, to say the least.

SCHOOL OF INFANTRY SPECIALIST, GOLF COMPANY.

After BMT, I was posted SISPEC (School of Infantry Specialist) as a trainee, undergoing their Basic Section Leader Course.

Frankly speaking, I was not exactly thrilled to be posted to SISPEC initially. But after spending ten weeks there under some of the finest instructors, my views have been altered significantly.

I was in SISPEC GOLF Coy, and boy, am I proud to be a part of that magnificent company. I admire their inherent culture, their way of handling matters and I have utmost respect for the commanders there for their dedication, understanding, efficiency and professionalism.

I will always look back fondly at my time there as a trainee in GOLF coy. For it is the people there in GOLF that instilled the golden pride in me to serve as a Specialist in the SAF.

It has been bloody tough, undoubtedly, but I enjoyed my time there. Plus I attained my IPPT gold in SISPEC. Heh!

“We are from GOLF coy and we shall not be moved! Just like a tree, standing at the water-front!”

    EOD/ CBRE.

Currently, I am a trainee in the Combat Engineer Training Institute. Following that I will be posted to either one of these two units; EOD (Explosive Ordinance Defense) or CBRE (Chemical Biological Radioactive Explosive) for even more training before passing out as a qualified commander specializing in such subject matters.

Simply speaking, EOD deals with bombs and such while CBRE handles all chemical, biological and radioactive threats. Entry to either of these two units has seen me go through numerous interviews and selection tests. EOD and CBRE, along with the Commandos and Special Ops Forces are known as HRC (High Readiness Core) units. Such units are constantly on 24/7 standby, ready to spring into action at any particular point of time.

You have to admit that it is considerably more interesting than infantry-styled, back-to-basic, jungle warfare.
