Grandmaster Qui-Gon Jinn.
I have absolutely no inkling how many of you self-proclaimed hardcore Star Wars fans out there are oblivious to the very fact that at the end of Episode III, Yoda became Qui-Gon Jinn's disciple.
The handful of people that I bothered relating this fact to were mistrustful, regardless of it being utterly accurate, and not to mention, reliable.
After the near-genocide of the Jedi, Yoda realised the error of his ways; him stubbornly enforcing the old methods of Jedi-training, the guarding of the rigid customs etcetera.
It eventually dawned upon the old leather-head Yoda that Qui-Gon Jinn was in fact the enlightened one. For Qui-Gon Jinn understood long before Yoda that the world is rapidly changing and that it is imperative for the Jedi to adapt and to keep up with times.
Having comprehended this stunningly simple truth, Yoda reached out to the force for guidance, and the force spoke to Yoda in the form of an astral Qui-Gon Jinn.
Following that, Yoda acknowledged Qui-Gon Jinn as his master, pledging to learn from him.
The irony! For when Qui-Gon was still kickin', each time Yoda chided Qui-Gon Jinn for his seemingly reckless behavior, Yoda was actually accentuating his own folly.
Well, if only I could study Star Wars for my 'A' level literature.
